My mother,64 years, is about 450 pounds and her weight is centralized in her stomach. She has a mantle of fat hanging down to her knees making it extremly difficult for her to walk. I am sadden about her condition because I feel helpless. The doctors that treat her seem not to acknowledge the severity of the problem. She seems to have lost all motivation for life and refuses to get out of bed. My dad cares for her but looks extremly exausted. I feel as though I will soon lose both my parents if I do not find help. Please! guide me to a solution. Thank you for your anticipated response. I have a sister who I know has to weight every bit of 400 lbs. plus, with a mass tissue growth in her groin area, and the surgeons have talked about removing the mass tissue growth, but my sister must lose weight in order for the surgery to take place, and that is the problem we are faced with, she is disgusted and has lost her sense of motivation and seeming will to fight for her health. She lives with my 73 year old mother, and without question, this is an emotional wear and tear on my mother, watching a child she loves and brought into the world drowing in her body fat, not to mention the effects on the rest of the family.
